Automate video creation with the DansUGC API & MCP (ReelClaw)

This is the part of the B-roll Marketplace we're most excited about. Instead of browsing, downloading, and editing clips by hand, you can let an AI agent do it — pulling B-roll clips and assembling finished videos programmatically, right inside your tools.

Our vision: connect DansUGC to an AI agent (Claude, Cursor, Codex, and similar) and produce thousands of videos without manual editing.

How it works

The automation layer has two pieces:

1. The DansUGC MCP — a connector that gives your AI agent direct access to the B-roll library and the DansUGC API. The agent can search and pull clips just like you would in the marketplace, but through natural-language commands.
2. The ReelClaw skill (dansugc.com/skill/reelclaw) — the playbook that teaches your agent the full pipeline: source the right UGC reaction hooks, analyze your app demo, and assemble finished reels (using tools like ffmpeg and AI analysis under the hood).

Together, they turn "find a clip and edit a video" into a repeatable, automated workflow your agent runs on demand.

What you need: a DansUGC account on a Growth or Scale plan

The DansUGC MCP needs a Growth or Scale plan and no API key (team members use their team owner's plan). To connect:

1. Connect the DansUGC MCP to your AI agent (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, etc.) by adding https://dansugc.com/mcp and logging in with your DansUGC account in the browser (OAuth). API keys don't work on the MCP.
2. Add the ReelClaw skill from dansugc.com/skill/reelclaw to your agent.
3. Add credits at dansugc.com/dashboard/credits and start generating videos — from single clips to thousands.

What it costs

On top of the plan, the MCP is pay-as-you-go from your DansUGC credits (prices, quotes and balances are all in credits):

• UGC clips you buy — B-roll library clips are 11 credits each (images 8), less your plan's discount (there are no volume discounts — 10 clips are 110 credits without a plan). In ReelClaw you only pay for reactions you don't already own; editing and rendering are included.
• Research queries (TikTok/Instagram search and similar) — 0.02 credits per query, charged only when the query succeeds.

The REST API (dansugc.com/api/v1, for building DansUGC into your own product) is separate: it uses a DansUGC API key from your dashboard and is part of the paid API plan.

Automation applies to the editing and assembly, not the footage. Every reaction the agent pulls is filmed by a real human — never AI. You get the speed of automation with the authenticity that makes UGC convert.

Quick FAQ

Which plan do I need for the MCP and ReelClaw? Growth or Scale (Starter doesn't include it; team members use their team owner's plan). Log in with your DansUGC account; on top of the plan you pay from credits: clips at 11 credits each, less your plan's discount (only reactions you don't already own in ReelClaw; editing and rendering are included) and research queries at 0.02 credits each, only on success.

Can I connect the MCP with an API key? No. The MCP uses OAuth only — you log in in the browser. DansUGC API keys are for the REST API. If your agent says it no longer accepts API keys, remove the key from its MCP config and log in again.

Which AI agents are supported? Any agent that supports MCP — including Claude, Cursor, and Codex.

Where do I get the ReelClaw skill? At dansugc.com/skill/reelclaw. Add it to your agent alongside the DansUGC MCP.

Are the automated videos made with AI footage? No. The clips are always real human footage. AI only handles the editing and assembly.
